Trinity River Campus will offer a free luncheon workshop Oct. 12, covering ways to handle test anxiety.
Calming Test Anxiety, part of the center for academic success Lunchtime Workshop Series, will be presented by TR counselor Lori Leach, who said the topic of test anxiety was chosen to prepare students for their upcoming mid-term exams.
“My goal is to help students understand how test anxiety develops,” she said. “Another goal is to teach skills to help manage anxiety so that they are able to demonstrate their knowledge more fully during testing situations.”
Leach obtained her Bachelor of Science in psychology as well as a Master of Education in counseling from the University of Texas at El Paso. Leach has been in the counseling profession for 25 years. In June 2009, she came to TR from the University of Texas at Arlington.
The CAS-sponsored event will be noon-1 p.m. in TRTR 3102.
