News junkies and political enthusiasts may be interested in attending a public discussion on Texas politics and the upcoming elections 2:30-3:30 p.m. Nov. 4 in the SE Campus library.
The discussion will be led by Bud Kennedy, news and political columnist for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Besides this year’s election, which Kennedy said is mostly about proposals to amend the Texas Constitution, he will also discuss what he calls the most decisive election in Texas, the primaries in March.
“For 20 years, the Republican primary has chosen most Texas leaders,” he said, adding this might change in one or two offices next year.
Kennedy also plans to discuss the new voting requirements, which he said directly punish students.
“Everybody has to have an ID that matches the voting address,” he said.
