Anyone interested in the sport of kayaking may learn about the activity from an Olympic gold medalist.
Joe Jacobi, gold medalist in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, will conduct a paddling clinic in the NE HPE pool 7-9 p.m. tonight.
Jacobi, America’s first-ever gold medal winner in whitewater slalom, also competed in the 2004 Games in Athens.
He will be joined by Ben Kvanli, a member of the 1996 whitewater slalom team, who is a contender for this year’s squad.
The kayaking demonstration is free.
Local kayaking instructors will be at the event to help small groups learn about the activity.
