TCC Children’s Center is seeking individuals to participate in Trike-A-Thon, a charity fundraiser for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The annual sporting event is Friday, Nov. 16, outside the NE Campus Fine Arts Building.
Those who attend can donate money or cheer on the participating children, who will ride a trike for a certain amount of time.
“ Our goal in holding this event is to help the sick children of the world stricken with cancer, AIDS, sickle cell and other catastrophic illnesses,” Pati Cates, assistant professor of child development, said.
The Trike-A-Thon will teach children safety while using riding toys. Cates said parents will benefit by seeing safe behavior practices.
“ Another goal is to help children understand the concept of giving back to the community,” she said.
If interested in making a donation or participating, contact Cates at 817-515-6656 or log onto stjude.org/trike.
