A representative from the Amon Carter Museum of Art in Fort Worth will make a presentation about photography and its struggles with color Feb. 16 on NE Campus.
NE photography instructor Ting Huang, who organized the event, invited local senior curator of photographs John Rohrbach to talk about one of his books Color: American Photography Transformed.
Rohrbach will also discuss how photographers struggle to express themselves when there’s a lot of color in the picture.
Huang, who’s been a fan of Rohrbach’s work, expressed her expectations for the event, which she believes will benefit many photography students.
“The world will be shaped by the color of our film,” Huang said. “I hope the students will think about color. My problem with these types of photographs is that the color is too seductive that you don’t make enough effort to make the picture itself look good. You’re only trying to seduce people by your color.”
The event will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. in College Hall (NCAB 1111).
