Thea Tippin is an All-American woman.
The cute, perky blonde mother of two young boys is married to platinum-selling country singer Aaron Tippin, and they are all living happily ever after on a huge ranch outside Nashville.
Since Tippin is an unabashed Christian, patriot and country girl, there is not much to dislike.
Unfortunately, on her 2009 CD My Way, there is not much to love, either.
Tippin’s voice is not bad, but it doesn’t have the ‘umph’ of a Carrie Underwood or a Martina McBride.
This CD is full of jazz standards (Someone to Watch Over Me; Hit the Road, Jack) and soft-rock classics (Baby I’ma Want You, I Can See Clearly Now) that didn’t have much staying power. So in 2010, these selections induce more snoozes than sparks.
Listeners might not hate the My Way. But they might not stay awake long enough to find anything noteworthy.
