Two string ensemble performances performed exclusively by students will be March 1on NE Campus.
The first event, The Rite of Strings, starts at 5 p.m. and includes selections from Handel’s Messiah and select Celtic dances. The following event at 7 p.m., String Music Through the Centuries, features music selections that range from the Baroque era to the 21st century.
NE music instructor Hsinyi Wang said the performance offers students a chance to see what’s possible if they enroll in private lessons.
“Besides [a student’s] busy working and studying schedule, participating in any music ensemble could be helpful to release some of the stress and meet new friends,” she said.
Wang said anyone interested in taking lessons or joining the ensembles is welcome to stay after the concert to talk with her or the students.
“The performances may not be as perfect as [the] Fort Worth Symphony or Bass Hall, but they are sincere, and the students try their very best to present the best performances,” she said.
Both performances are open to the public and are in College Hall (NCAB 1111). For more information, contact Wang at 817-515-6255 or hsinyi.wang@tccd.edu.
