The Student Health 101 online magazine is now available to TCC students. The interactive e-zine offers health information geared toward students ranging from working out to going green to getting healthy. The e-zine can be found through a link on the TCC Health Service website or at www.tccd.edu/health.

TR Campus offers free Pastries with the President 10-10:30 a.m. in the Riverfront Café. Students may attend and have scones, fruits and danishes with the campus president, staff and teachers.

South Campus is hosting its Week of Welcome at the Career Café on the SSTU Patio 4:30-6 p.m. The first 30 students in attendance will receive free coffee. Student Todd Bridges will perform, as well.
Sept. 2
The NE Campus Orientation to College will be held 8 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Student Center. Seminars with keynote speakers will be available to help students get the most out of their college experience. Breakfast and lunch will be served, and clubs and campus services will be on hand to answer questions and offer information. Prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Let’s TC-See It will be held on South Campus 9:30-10:30 a.m. in front of the library. Wear your TCC gear to show your campus pride during the faculty/staff vs. student volleyball game. The first 50 attendees will receive free snow cones.

TR Campus will host a student feedback forum at noon in the Riverfront Café. Students may stop by the Student Life Center earlier that day to get a voucher for a free lunch for the event.

The NE English and art departments will host an exhibit of artistic responses to the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The exhibit will be on display in College Hall (NCAB 1111) and is open to students, faculty and staff. An official observance ceremony will be held at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sept. 7. SE math/physics department will sponsor an order of operations workshop 8:30-9:20 a.m., a factoring workshop 11:50-12:40 p.m. and a graphing workshop 1:15-2:05 p.m. in ESCT 3205.

NE health services and AIDS Outreach will sponsor free confidential HIV and syphilis testing 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in NSTU 1704A (health services). Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. For more information, call 817-515-6056.

NW student organizations and student activities will hold a Club Fest 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. in the NW Theatre lobby on both days. Student organizations will provide information about their groups and talk to students interested in joining. Student activities will provide free popcorn and soft drinks.

TR Campus will hold Survival Week to promote tutoring resources and offer small seminars in basic subjects in TRTR 3102. The full schedule is math at noon and science at 12:30 Tuesday, science at noon and math at 12:30 Wednesday, writing at noon and reading at 12:30 Thursday, reading at noon and writing at 12:30 Friday and math at 11:30, writing at noon and reading at 12:30 Saturday. Prizes, including shirts and gift cards to Sonic and Best Buy, and refreshments will be available throughout the week.

SE math/physics department will provide an order of operations workshop 8:30-9:20 a.m., a factoring workshop 10:40-11:30 a.m., an arithmetic workshop 1-1:50 p.m. and signed numbers workshops 12:50-1:40 p.m. and 5:30-6:20 p.m. The workshops will be held in ESCT 3205.

South Campus will host What is a Learning Disorder 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the Texas Room (SSTU 2208). NE counselor Anita Peters will give an overview of learning disabilities and explain how individuals who simply learn differently can be successful in college and in life.

SE health services will offer a limited quantity of free HIV/AIDS tests 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in ESEC 2118.

SE Campus career services, located in ESEE 2301A, will host an open house 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. to provide students an opportunity to meet the staff and learn about available resources. Refreshments will be served.

The American Red Cross and South Campus health services will hold a blood drive 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the free speech area.

Two walls will be set aside to remember 9/11, one in TRTR Main Street across from the coffee shop and one in TR East Campus facing the plaza. Students can post cards and write thoughts and prayers on the wall for the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
Sept. 9
A remembrance walk at TR will begin at 8:30 a.m. for the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The walk will take students from the East Campus plaza to the idea center on the main campus.

SE math/physics department will sponsor a solving equations/inequalities workshop 12:45-1:35 p.m. in ESCT 3205.
Sept. 13-14
Students can participate in one or several seminars during the NW Campus Student Success Conference. Sessions are 8:30, 9:30 and 11 a.m. both days.
