Now-Dec. 13 NW Campus is offering a nontraditional student support group, free preparation for the TSI exam and free essay-writing preparation in the WTLO Walsh Library and WFAB 2614 10-11 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. every Friday until the end of the semester. Students will receive help with Blackboard, study skills, Microsoft Office, keyboarding, homework and more. Preparation is also offered on Mondays and Wednesdays by appointment. Nov. 13 The Family Empowerment Center and The Women’s Center of Tarrant County are hosting a Jobs NOW Orientation on South Campus. Students seeking employment can attend the event 2-3 p.m. in the demo kitchen in the FEC Training Room (SFOF 1738A).

Nov. 13 The NW Campus Leadership Academy focuses on time management 2-4 p.m. in the Michael Saenz Conference Center (WACB 1123). Students will learn different strategies that track time usage and help participants think about where their time goes. No registration is required for the seminar.

Nov. 14 NE Campus will host Transfer Academy: Tour de Transfer 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Galley (NSTU 1506). The program is designed to assist students in transferring to a four-year school through advisory sessions and workshops. The Transfer Academy consists of three successive parts through the fall and spring semesters. Nov. 14 South health services and Carter BloodCare will hold a blood drive 9 a.m.–3 p.m. in the mobile unit on the SSTU patio. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh more than 110 pounds, have a valid photo ID and have not donated within 56 days. Nov. 14 In celebration of National Novel Writing Month, the South Campus Library and Writing Center will hold a Write-In 6-10 p.m. in the library. Nov. 15 Students interested in transferring to the University of North Texas can experience the school firsthand through TCC & Me on the Go: UNT Transfer Open House 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Transportation is provided from TR Campus to UNT. Students will tour the campus, meet UNT students and learn how TCC credits will transfer. The event is free, but limited seats are available, so registration is required. Nov. 15 SE Campus’ Health Occupations Only club will host HOOlympics 1-4 p.m. in the North Ballroom. The club will collect donations of gently used coats, shoes, toiletries, canned goods and toys to be donated to Mission Arlington. Nov. 15 Registration begins for the spring 2014 semester. WebAdvisor will be available 6 a.m.-midnight daily for registration and until 1 a.m. for tuition payment. Payment is due at the time of registration. Payment arrangements must be made prior to registration. This includes financial aid, Veterans Affairs benefits, exemptions, scholarships and other forms of third-party payment.

Nov. 15 Midnight is the deadline to apply for fall 2013 graduation. Prospective graduates must submit an Application for Graduation online through WebAdvisor by 11:59 p.m. The annual graduation ceremony will be held May 9 and will include graduates from summer 2013, fall 2013 and spring 2014.

Nov. 18 Lectures on Leadership: Top 10 Leadership Skills will be on TR Campus 2-3 p.m. in the Center for Leadership Development located on the first floor of TREF. Nov. 18-22 South Campus’ library will host an exhibit on former President John F. Kennedy. More than 50 books will be on display along with reproductions and actual news articles about his assassination. A continuous loop video will share the remembrances of TCC faculty and staff from 50 years ago when the event occurred. Nov. 19 The Heart of Mexico: Language, Culture and History, presented by Cuernavaca’s tourism director Dalel Cortes 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the NE Theatre (NFAB 1205), will focus on language study and culture in central and southern Mexico. Sponsored by NE student activities and the world language department, the event will highlight the new tourism campaign for the Mexican state of Morelos.
