Angela Shelton, author of Finding Angela Shelton, will visit NE Campus 12:45 p.m. March 14 in the NFAB Theatre.

Shelton, a sexual abuse survivor, travels to many locations across the United States to talk to other survivors and urges them to let go of their past.

“I am a serious big mouth who helps people move from pain and suffering to leading joyful lives,” she said. “I teach women to stop being victims and become goddesses.”

For those who attend the presentation, Shelton will provide steps to encourage others to become goddesses.

“The only way we are going to end the abuse epidemic is to first break the silence,” she said. “Then we break the cycle.”

TCC’s Student Ambassadors are sponsoring the presentation to kick off child abuse awareness month. The organization covered the funds to fly Shelton to Texas.

Cassie Hotze, a member of the Student Ambassadors, raised approximately $700, and student activities donated $1,000 to cover Shelton’s expenses.

For anyone personally affected by abuse, the presentation is sure to heal emotional wounds or at least begin the healing process.
