Diabetes information shared during speech

Information on how to prevent and treat diabetes will be available on South Campus Feb. 15.

Toya Norton, diabetes community health director at John Peter Smith Hospital, will present the program at 12:30 p.m. in the SSTU Forum Room.

Her primary areas of focus will be the difference between hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia, blood pressure concerns and the benefits of physical activity.

There will also be a brown-bag luncheon with healthy drinks and snacks provided.

This is the second in a four-part series at TCC sponsored by the Tarrant County Hospital District’s Community Diabetes Project. Other presentations will be Feb. 22 and Feb. 29 at the same time and location.

Those wishing to attend should RSVP by calling 817-515-4531.
