AUSTIN, Texas (MCT)—Gail Goestenkors, the new women’s basketball coach at Texas, will be the highest paid in the Big 12 and among the highest paid in the country with a guaranteed annual salary of at least $900,000 and incentives that could take her over $1 million, according to a Texas source.
Goestenkors, 44, was believed to earn about $400,000 at Duke University.
The highest paid women’s coach in the Big 12 this season was Baylor’s Kim Mulkey, who reportedly earns $850,000 plus incentives.
