Country meets Christmas for a string concert this week.

The 15th annual Country Strings Christmas & More Concert will be 7:30-9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, in Birdville High School. Admission is free.

“This is our end-of-the-semester recital for country strings, which is a class made up of credit and non-credit students,” Diane Enger, NE music instructor, said.

In past years, the country strings have used various themes such as last year’s Hee Haw concert.

Enger, said this year’s concert will feature Christmas songs such as “Christmas Time in Texas,” “Faded Love,” “White House Blues” and some country and bluegrass songs. The concert will also have vocalists to compliment the student’s music.

Enger will also perform with the students playing the violin or fiddle as she refers to it.
