Students to celebrate with kite-flying skills

SE Campus student activities will celebrate Arbor Day and Earth Day with Let’s Go Fly a Kite on the North Lawn, Friday, April 27, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Students and faculty members are encouraged to bring their own kites for the event.

Felisha Battles, student services instructional assistant, said student activities would have extra kites for
anyone who doesn’t have or forgets to bring one.

“ We want students to take a moment and celebrate the Earth by doing something simple and beautiful,” she said.

Although the area has had bad weather recently, Battles is optimistic.

“ It’s going to be a great time on what I’m sure will be a beautiful day,” she said.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available courtesy of student activities.
