South talks about service

Students and faculty on South Campus can gain volunteer or community service hours at Get Your Serve On 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 8 in the SSTU Dining Hall.

South career services coordinator Monica Miranda said it’s an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to engage in community-based organizations.

“So far, we have Volunteer Center of North Texas, Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County, Proyecto Inmigrante, just to name a couple,” she said.

It is for people who want to donate their time out in the community, Miranda said.

“We do try to gear it towards our student clubs and organizations,” she said, “but it can be for faculty that need service hours as well.”
