Now-April 2 The Carillon Gallery on South ends its exhibit Ryder Richards: The Idyll. The Carillon is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. or by reservation. Now-April 3 The NW art department continues Dada Day in the Lakeview Gallery for all students, faculty and the public to participate. Dada Day explores the ideas of free expression. April 7 Music Through the Centuries will be presented 7-9 p.m. on NE Campus. The audience will meet in Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) and be escorted to different locations to hear music from the baroque, classical, romantic and modern eras. April 9 The NE music department will host a preparatory piano recital 7:30-8:30 p.m. in College Hall (NCAB 1111) on NE Campus. April 11 The Frontier Brigade Band will present a concert 2-3 p.m. in the Larry Darlage Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) on NE Campus. The band re-creates performances from the American Brass Band Movement (1840-1880) and the Golden Age of American Bands (1880-1920) by performing original arrangements from that time. April 16-18 The South theater program will present Fools by Neil Simon at 7:30 p.m. in the Joe B. Rushing Performing Arts Center. The play is a comic fable in which a schoolteacher struggles to lift the curse of stupidity placed on the citizens of a long-ago Russian village. Tickets go on sale at 7 p.m. in the box office on the day of the performance. Prices are $6 for the general public, $3 for seniors and non-TCC students and free for TCC students, faculty and staff. April 22-25 Theatre Southeast will present The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde at 7:30 p.m. April 22-25 and 1:30 p.m. April 24-25 in the Roberson Theatre (ESEC 1401). The production is a satirical comedy set in Victorian England. It depicts life and the different social classes during that period. Admission is free for TCC students, faculty and staff, $3 for non-TCC students and seniors and $6 for the general public. April 23-May 7 South will hold its annual Juried Student Art Exhibition in the Carillon Gallery, which is open Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. or by appointment. Students have until April 21 to submit their work. They must also complete entry forms and pay a $3 entry fee for each piece of art. Students can give entry forms to their studio art professors or directly to associate art professor Kara English, who is overseeing the show.
