As part of the Transfer Academy, NW Campus’ transfer center will present University Connection Oct. 28.

Thus far, representatives from the University of North Texas, Tarleton State University, Dallas Baptist University, the University of Texas at Dallas, Texas A&M and the University of Texas at Arlington have confirmed to leading the panel-style discussion.

An interactive Q&A forum will follow the panel.

“One of the goals of the Transfer Academy is to teach our students that they are freshman and sophomore students at TCC, and if they complete their A.A. plans at TCC, they will transfer to the university as juniors,” transfer center coordinator Lourdes Davenport said.

The Transfer Academy is striving to teach students to plan early as far as identifying a major and knowing their university requirements not only for transfer admission but transfer credits that will be accepted by their major of choice as well, Davenport said.

The university transfer specialists will cover scholarships, application deadlines, transfer requirements and other pertinent information relative to transferring.

“Students in any stage of their academic career will benefit from this information because it’s never too soon to plan,” she said.

The discussion will take place 12:30-1:30 p.m. in WACB 1123.

Davenport asked that attendees notify the transfer center in WSTU 1302C or at 817-515-7654 if planning to attend so enough food is ordered.
