Native American Heritage Calendar

Nov. 5 Former TCC student Alisa Tomlinson will perform Native American flute music and display her collection of Native American instruments and clothing 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Riverfront Café on TR Campus. Nov. 5, 10  TR health services will sponsor Wellness on Wheels, a cart with health information for Native Americans, in the Riverfront Cafe on Nov. 5 and in the library Nov. 10. For more information, contact TR health services coordinator Angela Virgin at 817-515-1337.

Nov. 10 NE academic advisor Marjeanna Burge will speak to TR students about the history of indigenous people in the U.S. and their relevance to the experiences of present-day Native Americans 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the TR Library. Nov. 17 Storytellers De Cee Cornish and Lady Jaye of the Tipi Tellers will use storytelling, traditional music and Native American artifacts to present a celebration of Native American heritage 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the TR Library. Nov. 20 TR will host its 28th Leadership eXperience Summit: Going Back to Native Ways for Personal Growth 12:30-3:30 p.m. in the Action Suite.
