May 4 Health services will hold free HIV screenings 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in health services (ESEC 2118) on SE Campus. 

May 4 South will host Petting Zoo 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the lawn area in front of the Rotunda. Students are encouraged to take a break from finals and relieve some stress by coming to see various animals at the free event.

May 4 Astronomy Workshops: Solar System Exam Review Sessions will be 4-5:30 p.m. in ESEE 2342 on SE Campus. Students will receive astronomy survival guides to help them prepare for their final exams.

May 4-5 NW Campus will have a banner-signing party for graduating students 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Five transfer centers will have banners prepared for students to sign that will be displayed at the graduation ceremony May 16. The signing will take place in WSTU’s main hallway.

May 5 SE Campus will hold its Cinco de Mayo Celebration 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the ESCT HUB. The names of students who successfully guess how many treats are in a pinata will be put in a drawing to receive a free lunch from student activities. May 5 NE Campus will hold a seminar on clinical documentation 1-4 p.m. in College Hall (NCAB 1111). The presentation will be given by Kimberley Scales, center for therapeutic change clinical director, and will provide continuing education and training in the area of clinical documentation. The course will also cover the ethical and cultural aspects of clinical documentation and legal obligations associated with records. Three contact hours will be awarded to licensed professionals who register for the professional section. Professionals pay a $21 registration fee. May 6 Registration for Maymester ends at 11:59 p.m.

May 6 Physics I Workshops: Problem Solving Sessions will be 1-2:30 p.m. in ESEE 2342 on SE Campus. The workshops will focus on difficult Physics I topics. For more information, call SE instructional associate Bethany Hiller at 817-515-3823.

May 6-8 Final exams and classes end for spring Weekend College.

May 7-10 TR will have puppies on campus for Therapaws noon-2 p.m. May 7 and 10 and noon-4 p.m. May 9 in the TR library. The puppies are available for students and faculty or staff to pet and visit to deal with stress or test anxiety during finals week. May 8 TR’s Tahita Fulkerson Library will sponsor the Library Lock-In Exam Cram starting at 5 p.m. May 8 and lasting until midnight May 9. Students are encouraged to stop by for pizza, snacks and a quiet study session. Textbooks, laptops and desktops will be available for study use. Students must have a TCC ID and arrive before 5:30 p.m. Students are allowed to leave at any time but will not be readmitted to the library. May 9-12 Final exams will be held for spring 16-week session.

May 9-12 Test Aid will be 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Commons on SE Campus. Student activities will provide snacks, drinks, pencils, Scantrons and final exam schedules for all five campuses. For more information, call SE student activities at 817-515-3595.

May 9-12 For finals week, South will be giving out finals survival kits. The kit includes Scantrons, pencils and a snack. Students are encouraged to come by the student development services office (SSTU 1102A) to pick up a kit.

May 12 Final exams and classes end for spring second eight-week session.

May 13 Classes begin for Maymester.

May 16 The annual graduation ceremony will be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center and includes graduates for summer 2015, fall 2015 and spring 2016. The ceremonies begin at 1 p.m. for graduates with last names A-K and at 6 p.m. for graduates with last names L-Z as well as TCC early collegiate high school graduates. May 17-19 NE Campus will hold early voting for the primary runoff election 7 a.m.-7 p.m. in the Galley (NSTU 1506). Voting is open to the public.

May 19 Texas Tech University will offer academic advising 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in ESED 1128A on SE Campus. Students will receive information on admission requirements, scholarships and transferring courses. Appointments must be scheduled with Texas Tech academic advisor Keeley Grant. May 24 Registration for summer first six-week session ends.

May 26 SE Campus will have a Memorial Day observance 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Commons. The observance will take place to honor those who have sacrificed their lives in service for the U.S. Students can take candles and leave flags to honor those who’ve served. May 27 Final exams and classes end for Maymester.

May 31 Classes begin for summer first six-week session.

June 8, July 20 NE Campus will host a Carter BloodCare blood drive 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the mobile bus outside of the Student Center. Donors must be at least 110 pounds, be 16 years of age and have a valid photo ID. Fifty-six days must have passed since the last donation, and it is recommended that donors be well-hydrated and have eaten something. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. July 20 NE Campus will hold Be the Match – bone marrow donor registry 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the NTAB lobby. Donors must be between the ages of 18-44, meet the health guidelines, fill out a form and submit to a cheek cell swab.
