Now-Nov. 22 NW’s Walsh Library will host a weekly book discussion on The Things They Carried by Vietnam veteran Tim O’Brien starting at 2 p.m. every Tuesday in the Walsh Library (WTLO 3100).

Oct. 26 South student activities and Sigma Kappa Delta will host Edgar Allan Poetry Read-In 12:30-2 p.m. in the library’s Drake Cafe. Students should come in costume and bring a scary poem to read.

Oct. 26 SE’s success center will host There’s an App for That! 1-2 p.m. in the library classroom (ESED 1212).

Oct. 26 South Campus counselors will hold depression screenings 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Student Center dining hall. The depression screenings will be confidential, and counselors will give in-house and community referrals if needed.

Oct. 26 TR’s Discovery Center will host a workshop on stress management 10-11 a.m. in the Discovery Center (TRTR 3102). Students will learn how to use stress in a more positive way.

Oct. 26-27 SE’s clubs and organizations will hold a Fall Fundraising Bazaar 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Main Commons. The proceeds will help fund campus clubs. For more information, contact student services at 817-515-3595.

Oct. 27, Nov. 2 NE Campus will host Get Back on Track and Finish the Race! 5:30-8 p.m. Oct. 27 and noon-2:30 p.m. Nov. 2 in the Community Room (NBSS 1103). This workshop will assist students with identifying their learning styles and providing effective strategies for learning and studying. Oct. 28 Deadline for students to apply for the Office of Inclusion and Diversity scholarship that awards a $500 credit for their campus bookstore. One student will be selected from each campus who best addresses “What is your vision of a respectful community?” A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. Students must complete the application and may submit responses in numerous formats including essay, YouTube video, digital works or PowerPoint. Oct. 31 Student activities will hide mini-pumpkins across NE for Pumpkin Pursuit! 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Find one of the mini-pumpkins for a chance to win a prize. Oct. 31- Nov. 3 NW student activities will hold Flag Days 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the WSTU bookstore lobby. Students can write the names of loved ones or friends who have served in the military on ribbons that will be pinned to small U.S. flags.
