In the midst of great amounts of animal abuse allegations, A Dog’s Purpose premiered and tugged on the emotions like no other.
The movie in general was a bit difficult to watch if viewers have seen clips from behind the scenes, but it did create messages that all people should be aware of: Love your pets and treat them with nothing short of the love they give you.
The storyline, however, is unique and great for someone who has always been curious on what goes on in a pet’s head.
It follows a devoted dog who finds the meaning of its life through the people it gives love and happiness to. Being reincarnated as multiple dogs, it develops a strong bond to a young boy, Ethan, who he finds five decades later.
The voiceovers of the dog being hilarious and oddly true were just as cheesy. However, it is in the perspective of a dog, so it is entertaining to watch.
The behind-the-scenes footage first shown by TMZ shows a German shepherd gripping and fighting to stay out of a tank of streaming water and eventually being forced in.
Filmmakers argue that the footage is misleading and producer Gavin Polone claims that the dog was in fact held back during rehearsals because he was so excited to get in the water.
Overall, the message of the movie is perfect in its humor and purity, but if the allegations are true, then the movie’s creators are the biggest hypocrites of all. Filmmaking is not an excuse to abuse animals.
