Feb. 1 NW will host an Academic Learning Center Workshop 11 a.m.-noon in WFAB 2614. In Writing Technology, students will learn to use Google Drive for organization and research. Feb. 1 NW will hold a PC network technician information session 6:30-7:30 p.m. in WATB 1227. Interested students will be given a brief explanation on the program and have questions answered. The PC Network Technician class begins March 20.

Feb. 1 NW will host an American Red Cross blood drive 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in WSTU 1303. To donate, one must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid photo ID. Fifty-six days must have passed since the last donation, and it is recommended to have eaten prior.

Feb. 2 SE will host an informational session for ELLAS, Encouraging Latinas to Lead, Achieve and Succeed, a new leadership program for Latina students 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. in the North Ballroom.

Feb. 3 TR Campus will host Wear Red Day 10-11:30 a.m. celebrating February’s Heart Health Month. Students can stop by TRTR Main Street to visit Wellness on Wheels for a free blood pressure check and to pick up health education materials about heart health, heart attacks and strokes.

Feb. 4, 7, 8, 9 and 11 SE Campus will offer free tax preparation assistance 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 4, noon-8 p.m. Feb. 7-9, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 11 in EMBC 1106 for those who qualify for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. IRS-certified volunteers can help people with electronic filing. To have tax returns prepared, individuals need to bring a picture ID, Social Security card for themselves, their dependents or spouse or a Social Security number verification letter or individual taxpayer identification number assignment letter for them, also relevant documents for an ITIN, and financial records for the filing. Both spouses must be present to sign the required forms if they are filing taxes electronically on a married-filing-joint tax return.
