Students invited into ceramics studio

Students, faculty and staff are invited to stop by the NW Campus ceramics studio to experiment with pottery making during Pottery Week Feb. 13-17.

“Pottery Week is a way to make the ceramics studio available to the TCC community and show people how much fun it is to make things out of clay,” said art associate professor Fred Spaulding.

No experience is required, and anyone interested is encouraged to attend.

“There will be assistance for people,” he said. “People don’t need to have any previous experience. You can just come in, and there will be people here to help.”

Faculty and students currently enrolled in a ceramics course will be present to provide assistance.

During Pottery Week, they will focus on simple projects, like bowls, to give people a chance to take something home with them, Spaulding said.

The ceramics studio (WFAB 1147) will be open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. For more information, contact Spaulding at 817-515-7557.
