To honor veterans, SE Campus has formed a weekly veterans breakfast scheduled 8:15-9:45 a.m. every Wednesday in the ESCT HUB.
Student activities formed the breakfast as a weekly appreciation for students, faculty and staff who served in the military.
SE English instructor Frances Suarez, who is the lead sponsor of the event, said student activities had to move locations to accommodate the influx of veterans.
“Over the years, the attendance has increased so much that the location of the Breakfast Breaks had to change from a conference room to the much larger HUB area,” she said.
Veterans can enjoy a cup of coffee, juice and a light breakfast while being in a relaxed environment where they can communicate with others who share a similar military background.
The college and community resources available help assist veterans in the sometimes-difficult transition from military to college life.
The Southeast Veterans Association also works to ensure the success of SE veterans.
