Students use teamwork in Ultimate Frisbee game

NW students teamed up for a competitive game of Ultimate Frisbee Feb. 22.

“This is the first time we’ve offered Ultimate Frisbee and is the first outdoor event of the semester,” student worker David Hooper said.

The participants had various levels of experience with sports and Ultimate Frisbee.

“I’ve only played Ultimate Frisbee once before in gym class,” said NW student Alyssa McDonald, who had attended the dodgeball event earlier this month.

NW student Chandler Dormire previously played on an Ultimate Frisbee team. He enjoys attending NW intramural sports events because it gives him a way to relax, decompress from school and get to know other students.

During the game, students demonstrated teamwork, hand-eye coordination and communication skills while socializing with peers.

“We just want students to have fun,” kinesiology instructional aide Aaron Garcia said. “We want to help students get active and be aware of different classes offered.”

The next NW intramural sports event will be basketball 3:30-6 p.m. March 2 in the WHPE gym. For more information, contact Garcia at aaron.garcia1@tccd.edu.
