Infinity to bring series of speakers in STEM

By Daniel Miller

Math can be an intimidating topic to students and a question often asked is how are they going to use this. This a question the NE Math Club Infinity is looking to answer in a series about jobs for STEM majors.

STEM refers to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

This month’s guest speaker is Jared Ginter, the senior insurance and risk finance specialist at Parkland Hospital. His speech will be about risk management and will incorporate how all of the STEM fields impact decision making and preparation for unexpected events.

“Businesses face risk in everything they do,” math instructor and club adviser Kim Campbell said in an email. “However, limited resources require objective decision making toward handling those risks. Risk managers take on this responsibility.”

The presentation, open to all students, is 12:20-2 p.m. March 31 in NTAB 2223.
