Influential Hispanics that made a difference in the world are showcased in the Hispanic Heritage Month Exhibit now until Sept. 22 in Art Corridor III on SE Campus.
The exhibit showcases influential Hispanics that have made a difference in the world such as Cesar Chavez, Desi Arnaz, Rita Moreno, Gloria Estefan, Soledad O’Brien, Roberto Clemente and Cristina Fernandez de Kirchne.
A combination of photographs and information over the highlighted Hispanic influencers are shown, administrative assistant Karen De Simone said.
“It includes people from the USA, Argentina, Mexico and covers people over the past 100 years and their impact on America,” she said.
Students, staff and faculty should attend to spread awareness to the Hispanic culture and the impact Hispanics have made in society, student development associate Frankie Ward said.
“With our growing population and the negative stigma that the Hispanic culture is having,” Ward said. “This exhibit showcases how students, staff and faculty will gain comprehension, compassion and understanding of this diverse population and encourage engagement in broader discussions of the challenges facing our future communities.”
