The SE theater department is returning this fall semester with its production of All My Sons.
Director Larry Cure said it is important to offer challenging works to both the student actors and crew as well as provide quality literature for entertaining, educating and enlightening an audience, and All My Sons provides that opportunity.
“I am looking forward for the audience to experience the play and to become emotionally invested in the story,” Cure said. “They will see the result of the hard work of our actors, crew and creative team.”
SE student Aaron LeDay, who plays Joe Keller, said he relates with how family-oriented Joe is and how he does whatever he needs to do to protect his family and make them happy.
“It is a really powerful play,” LeDay said. “It was written to be natural with hardly any acting. Just talking between relatable characters.”
LeDay also portrayed Joe Keller in All My Sons his senior year in high school and now can portray him again as a matured actor, his last semester at TCC.
SE student Bethany DuMond, who plays Kate Keller, said All My Sons is a good life-lesson play that will show how the characters dealt with mistakes and regret and got through the hardships of life.
“I hope the audience gets a cathartic release,” DuMond said. “They can see how messed up others’ lives are.”
SE student Tomas Moquet, who plays Chris Keller, said All My Sons is emotional and drains him out in the best way possible. It has even taught him about building and maintaining relationships with others.
“I hope the audience learns a thing or two to take home with them. Family, love and honesty are all strong things that we should go by on an everyday basis,” Moquet said. “I hope it opens their eyes and makes them feel something.”
All My Sons performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11-14 with a 1:30 p.m. matinee performance Oct. 13 in the C.A. Roberson Theater.
General admission is $6, children under 17 and seniors over 65 are $3 and TCC students, faculty and staff are free. For reservations, call the box office at 817-515-3599.
