A series of musical pieces will be performed at 7:30 p.m. April 13 in the NFAB theater on NE Campus.

Snidero, who travels the world playing in concerts, performs for students at universities and colleges all over the country.

Philippe Baugh, NE Jazz Lab Band instructor, said he has used one of Snidero’s textbooks to teach jazz and improvisation skills in his class and has been a fan of Snidero.

While visiting New York with his wife last summer, Baugh attended a jazz club where Snidero performed.

“His approach to music is very organized and professional,” he said. “When I saw him perform with his group in New York, you could tell that his musicians had a great deal of respect for him and were working hard to bring his music up to a high expectation.”

Baugh said he used the opportunity to talk to Snidero about performing on NE Campus.

“It’s good for students to see someone that works professionally in their field,” he said. “More importantly, having a guest like Jim Snidero will bring up students’ level of performance.”

General admission is free. For more information about Snidero, visit jimsnidero.com.
