Now-March 11 TR Campus will host Safe Spring Break, a weeklong awareness of how to stay protected during the upcoming weeklong vacation. Veronica Warrior, TR health services coordinator, will provide pamphlets at booths on TRTR Main Street.
March 9 Students can find tips on how to prepare for and make a good impression during an interview at the NW Campus career and employment services table 8:30-11 a.m. in the WSTU Lobby.
March 9 Students will get help with which degree and career are the right ones at What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up? sponsored by NW counseling and career and employment services noon-1:30 p.m. in WSTU 1303. Personality tests and other resources available on campus will be discussed as well as tips on how students can use their passions to find the right career.
March 10 Communicating with Faculty will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. in NSTU Center Corner on NE Campus presented by NE speech assistant professor Lisa Benedetti. Lunch will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
March 10 South academic advisors Noel Garcia and Carl Scherrieb will present ABCs to Success: Setting Goals and Making the Right Decisions, Part 2 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the SSTU Forum Room.
March 14-20 Spring break begins for all TCC students, faculty and staff. Classes resume and offices reopen March 21. Weekend College classes meet March 12-13.

March 23 Robert Beardsley, Comerica Bank vice president, will present Financial Literacy, a Center for Academic Success Lunchtime Workshop, noon-1 p.m. in the Discover Room (TRTR 3102) on TR Campus.
March 23 Students, faculty and staff can have fun and support a campus club at 7 p.m. at Alley Cats Bowling Center in Arlington. A $20 donation will provide one hour of lane time, shoe rental, $10 credit in the gaming center, two slices of pizza and soft drinks. Proceeds from the SE Association of Construction Management Students fundraiser will help support volunteer events around the community.
March 23 South Campus career center coordinator Monica Miranda will present Dress for Success/Interview Techniques 1-2 p.m. in the SSTU Texas Room. The seminar will teach students how to present themselves in a professional manner when attending job interviews. Miranda will teach the students how to market themselves to potential employers and increase their chances of obtaining the job of their dreams.
March 24 NW Campus will hear Dr. Leroy Chiao’s presentation Success in Multicultural Space 9:30-11 a.m. in WSTU 1303-05. The 15-year career veteran with NASA flew four space missions totaling 229 days in orbit, 36 hours of which were spent outside his spacecraft. He currently serves on the NASA Advisory Council.
March 24 South Campus center for academic success coordinator Chris Carcerano will present PowerPoint for Beginners 12:30-2 p.m. in SACA 1120. Carcerano will teach students the ins and outs of using the PowerPoint software and creating class projects.
March 24 Astronaut Leroy Chiao will give the keynote address at the Leadership eXperience Summit: Leading Change: Embracing ‘Otherness’ 1-4 p.m. in the Energy Room (TRTR 4008) on TR Campus. Additional presenters will be TR faculty and staff Jason Nguyen, Justin Brumit, Janet Rodriguez and Jinnell Killingsworth.
March 24 Dr. Leroy Chiao will present Success in Multicultural Space 4-5:30 p.m. in the ESEC Ballroom on SE Campus. Chiao had a 15-year career with NASA as an astronaut. He is now an executive vice president and director of a private manned space company and serves on the NASA Advisory Council.
March 25 TR Campus will host The Attitude of a Leader, an All-Stars Leadership Workshop 1:15-2:15 p.m. in TREF 1501C.

During his 15 years with NASA, Chiao flew four space missions totaling 229 days in orbit. He now serves as a consultant in the U.S. and Asia, teaches and makes educational presentations.
March 25-26 Students from all five campuses can attend a leadership retreat at Possum Kingdom Lake. The retreat will feature leadership building activities, motivational speakers and ropes courses. Students who want to participate can sign up in the student activities offices on their campuses.
March 28 Mike Yudizky of the North Texas Poison Center will visit NW to tell students how to identify poisons to make their workplaces or homes safer. The NW Campus health center luncheon is 12:30-1:30 p.m. in WACB 1123. Although the event is free, an RSVP is required. March 31 NW Campus health services will offer Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers, which includes performing CPR with a bag valve mask. The course will cost $15, will last 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in WACB 1123 and is open to anyone 18 and older. However, only health care providers will have access to a bag valve mask in most situations.
