March 2 Center for academic success coordinator Chris Carcerano will present Plan Your Summer Now: Internships, Jobs, School or Services? The seminar will teach students how to make the most of their summers, whether it be attaining internships, getting a job or taking summer courses. The seminar will be 12:30-2 p.m. in SACA 1120 on South Campus.

March 2 NE health services will offer free, confidential HIV/syphilis testing 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in NSTU 1704. Appointments are encouraged by calling 817-515-6056. Results will be available March 9.

March 2 SE Campus is celebrating Allan Saxe’s birthday 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the Main Lobby. Students who attend can get free ice cream.

March 2 Health services coordinator Flo Stanton will conduct Positive Self-Talk 6-6:45 p.m. in the SSTU Forum Room on South Campus. The seminar will teach students how to encourage and motivate themselves when it comes to not only school, but life in general.

March 2 NE Campus presents an interdepartmental Shakespeare Festival. The event begins at 9 a.m. in the NFAB Theatre with a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, produced by NE drama students. Then from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., students can hear presentations by faculty from English, history, drama, art, music and dance in NSTU Center Corner. Lunch will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.

March 2 TR government instructor James Goss will present Test-Taking Strategies, a Center for Academic Success Lunchtime Workshop, noon-1 p.m. in the Discover Room (TRTR 3102).

March 3 NE Campus will host a Campus Services Fair 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in NSTU Center Corner. Representatives from various areas of the campus will let students know about available support services.

March 3 An American Red Cross Blood Donor Drive will take place 9 a.m.-2 p.m. inside a mobile unit parked on the patio of the South Campus Student Center. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and have a photo ID. In addition, they should be well-hydrated and have eaten recently.

March 3 A Marrow Donor Registry will be set up 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the hallway outside of SSTU 1102 on South Campus. Potential donors must be 18-60 years old and in good health.

March 3 South career center coordinator Monica Miranda will present Networking/Job Clubs — Where to Go For Job Leads 1-2 p.m. in the SSTU Texas Room on South Campus. Miranda will show students how social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook can be utilized in the quest for employment. She will also teach students about the importance of networking and building relationships with professionals who can help them secure employment.

March 3 NE Campus student activities and continuing education will present Emotional Intelligence. The professional seminar will be 1-4 p.m. in NSTU Center Corner.

March 3-4 TR Campus will host Grad Fest, a spring college signing day, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on TRTR Main Street.

March 4 Student organizations will join in the SE library to decorate tents for the SE Reading Festival 9 a.m.-8 p.m. This year’s festival is fantasy-themed. For more information, call 817-515-3103.

March 5 Sharon Moore, TR academic advisor, will present Tips for a Successful Transfer, a Center for Academic Success Lunchtime Workshop, noon-1 p.m. in the Discover Room (TRTR 3102).

March 5 The second SE Reading Festival will be held in the SE Campus library 7:45-11 a.m. Student volunteers will read with second, third and fourth graders of the Arlington ISD. To volunteer for the event, students can contact Jo Klemm at 817-515-3388 or jotisa.klemm@tccd.edu.

March 8 SE Campus will celebrate Mardi Gras 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Bistro. Beads in the Bistro will feature king cakes, beads and a history of Mardi Gras.

March 8 Survive, Thrive and Protect Your GPA will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the NSTU Center Corner on NE Campus as part of the Student Success Seminars. NE counselor Anita Peters will present students with tips to promote success throughout their college experience along with methods to help students improve and maintain their desired GPA. Lunch will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.

March 8 SE students can learn the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption in the Binge Drinking seminar 10-11:20 a.m. in the North Ballroom. Light refreshments will be served.

March 8 TR Campus continues its spring film series with a showing of District 9 2-5 p.m. in Action A (TRTR 4202). Afterward, Stacy Lueking, HPE instructor, will lead a discussion of the 2009 movie about extraterrestrials that must live in slum conditions on Earth.

March 8 The South Campus I-PAC student organization will hold its second annual Mardi Gras Dance 6-11 p.m. in the SSTU cafeteria. The evening will include raffles, dancing lessons, a DJ and more. Admission is $5 for students, faculty and staff.

March 8 SE counseling and health services present Spring Break Info Fair 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Main Commons. Representatives from various organizations will distribute information and answer questions. Among the participants are Al-Anon, Fort Worth Teen Challenge, Shadows of the Badge, MADD and Recovery Resource Council.

March 8 Chancellor Erma Johnson Hadley will visit South Campus for Conversations with the Chancellor 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Living Room (SSTU 2105). She will meet with support staff 9:30-10:30 a.m. There will be an open forum 10:30-11:30 a.m. in which she will address and answer student questions. She will meet with full-time and adjunct faculty 12:30-2 p.m. Refreshments will be served after each meeting.

March 8 The results for the HIV testing done on March 1 will be available 10 a.m.-noon in the South Campus health center (SACC 1331) .

March 9 NE health services welcomes students to register to become possible bone marrow donors 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the NTAB lobby on NE Campus. Potential donors must be 18-60 years old.

March 9 Students can pick up tips on how to prepare for and make a good impression during an interview at the NW Campus career and employment services’ table 8:30-11 a.m. in the WSTU Lobby.

March 9 Students will get help with which degree and career are the right ones at What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up? sponsored by NW counseling and career and employment services noon-1:30 p.m. in WSTU 1303. Personality tests and other resources available on campus will be discussed as well as tips on how a person can use their passions to find the right career.

March 10 Communicating with Faculty will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. in NSTU Center Corner on NE Campus presented by NE speech assistant professor Lisa Benedetti. Lunch will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.

March 10 South academic advisors Noel Garcia and Carl Scherrieb will present ABCs to Success: Setting Goals and Making the Right Decisions, Part 2 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the SSTU Forum Room.
