March 2 Sammons Jazz presents The Leigh Tomlinson Memorial Showcase, which celebrates the legacy of the Sammons Jazz favorite who died in 2008. The evening features live jazz as well as complimentary valet parking, beverages and light appetizers. The doors of the Meadows Hall at the Sammons Center for the Arts open at 7 p.m., and the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $35, and admission for members is $30.
March 8 The past and the present combine with love in TCU’s presentation of the opera The Face on the Barroom Floor at 7 p.m. in the NW Campus Recital Hall (WFAB 1105). Present-day Larry and Isabel ask a bartender about the face painted on the floor in the barroom. After the bartender tells them the story of a wandering traveler and a woman named Isabel from the 19th century, events occur in the present day mirroring the past. Admission is free for all.
March 9 Muscle Memory Dance Theatre, Big Red Dance Collective and Phase 2 Dance Ensemble will join the NW Campus dance faculty for the Faculty and Guest Dance Concert 2–4 p.m. in the NW Theatre. After the recital, performers will participate in a question-and-answer time as well as a reception where the audience can meet the performers. Admission is $5 for general admission, $1 for students with ID and free for TCC faculty and staff.

Now-March 3 The Women’s History Month and Women in New Roles Art Show will be on display in the Performing Arts Center’s Carillon Gallery on South Campus. The exhibit features works by current and former WINR students. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Now-March 10 Interconnectivity, a series of works by three art faculty members, is on exhibit in the J. Ardis Bell Library on NE Campus. Pieces include one oil on canvas by associate professor Cindy Hurt, two “graffiti” on canvas by associate professor Andrew Stalder and two watercolors by instructor Rebecca Briley. Library hours are 7:45 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7:45 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. An Artist Talk will be 2-3 p.m. March 3 in front of the artworks.
Now-March 27 The Kimbell Art Museum presents Salvator Rosa: Bandits, Wilderness and Magic. The 36 oil paintings show the wide range of subjects produced by the 17th century Italian before his death at 58. Tickets are free for members and children under 6, $8 for adults, $6 for students with IDs and seniors 60 and over and $4 for children 6-11. Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday, noon-8 p.m. Friday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
Now-April 3 NW art professor Eduardo Aguilar honors his grandmother and two Texas Latino college presidents in his three paintings on display in the Art Space in the Walsh Library on NW Campus.
March 3 International ceramist Cynthia Bringle will visit NE Campus for a ceramics demonstration and studio visit beginning at 1 p.m. in the NFAB Ceramics Lab. The event is sponsored by the art department, student activities and the NEC Association of Potters /Sculptors.
March 10-31 The Biennial Faculty Exhibition will be on display in the Carillon Gallery in the Joe B. Rushing Center for the Performing Arts. The exhibition includes works by the visual art faculty of South Campus. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Now-March 5 Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, a play based on Judy Blume’s book by the same title, is the story of 9-year-old Peter Hatcher, who feels like a nobody because his little brother Fudge gets all the attention with his toddler antics. The play is geared toward children, but audiences of all ages will relate to Peter’s feelings and experiences. Showtimes are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday-Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday in Theater Northwest. Now-March 5 NE drama program will present its version of the 16th century Shakespearean comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream in NFAB Theatre on NE Campus. The abbreviated version, set in 20th century Mexico, incorporates all of the original production’s themes and storylines but includes creative elements such as matadors, mariachi bands and cacti that come alive. Now-April 2 Circle Theatre in Fort Worth presents the area premiere of Boeing-Boeing, a classic farce written by French playwright Marc Camoletti. The comedy is based on a successful architect living in Paris and juggling the timetables of his three fiancées who are all flight attendants. Everything is going well until a friend stops over for a surprise visit, and all three stewardesses change their flight schedules.
