SE Campus held its fifth annual college-wide job fair March 27 offering a host of summer jobs for students to consider.
The fair featured a variety of companies, services and employers looking to meet potential new hires.
Students interested in working in entertainment could check out iT’Z Family Food & Fun at the fair.
“People who have that personality that are willing to pop, especially in an entertainment facility we always look for good personality,’’ iT’Z manager Lillian Headrick said.
iT’Z offers long-term positions and welcomes anyone who would like to grow within the company, she said.
Little Tyke Child Care was another employer in attendance and said they are looking for responsible adults who enjoy working with children.
“You don’t want to do it and not have a joy for children,’’ early childhood specialist Christy Dougan said.
Dougan described the job as very fun, and depending on the positions, some directors hire people with little to no experience at all.
“We are willing to train for certain positions, but in some cases we may need a good lead teacher with an associate degree in early childhood,’’ she said.
As long as one has dedication and a high school diploma, they can consider child care as a potential job, Dougan said.
Job seekers were also told to dress professionally and to practice their elevator speech to make lasting impressions on prospective employers.
Dolce Hotels and Resorts were at the fair looking for potential full-time employees.
“We plan meetings, trainings and conferences, small to thousands of people,’’ Areli Hernandez said.
Hernandez described the hiring process as challenging because not everyone has kept up with technological advances that are needed for the job.
“We are looking for people who are service-oriented and have a joy of interacting with the public,’’ she said.
