Dogs walk owners for cancer research

Dogs are dressed to impress for the inaugural Bark For Life of Northern Tarrant County event on NE Campus Nov. 17. With the help of 21 dogs and their owners, the walk raised $600 for cancer research. The event is part of the larger Relay for Life sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

Pet owners took a bite out of cancer at the first Bark For Life ofNorthern Tarrant County.

Twenty-one dog owners and 11 teams of volunteers gathered together Nov. 17 on NE Campus to celebrate the inaugural event that featured a walk, contests, games, food and more for dogs and their respective owners.

This Bark For Life event, a subsidiary of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, raised about $600. That money will go toward cancer research, medical care and cancer awareness.
