Literature workshop to take place on NE

Literature will be alive and well on NE Campus March 28-29.

Living Literature Spring 2012 will feature a program by Alberto Rios, Regents Professor of English at Arizona State University.

Known for his work on short stories, Rios is also recognized for his poetry. His most recent work, The Dangerous Shirt, is a collection of poems released in 2009.

At 7:30 p.m. March 28, Rios will describe his foray into poetry as well as his long career writing short stories and his inspiration to begin writing in the first place.
At 9:30 a.m. March 29, Rios will continue his discussion briefly, after which the audience will divide into writing workshops.

Both events will take place in NSTU Center Corner.

Rios was a 2002 finalist for the National Book Award and winner of several literary awards including the 2002 Western Literature Association’s Distinguished Achievement Award, the Walt Whitman Award and the Arizona Governor’s Arts award.
