Masterworks of American Photography: Series and Sequences is on display at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth. The display of images shows new insights of the artistic process of photography with multiple exposures and groupings. Dristen Smet Rode 50 Miles will be held at the Grackle Art Gallery in Fort Worth. Curated by assistant director and TCC instructional aide Paul Leicht, the show includes a mixture of paintings, photographs, drawings and mixed media. Several of the artists are from the NE fine arts department. The show will run 6-11 p.m. The gallery is open for scheduled shows or by appointment only. Sweet Vibrations is the first of the fall Sammons Jazz series for the Sammons Center for the Arts in Dallas. The Ed Smith Quartet will open with a jazz vibraphone and percussion. The Brad Leali Quartet will then hit the stage with alto sounds on the saxophone. The show will be 7:30-10 p.m. with the doors opening at 7 p.m. Regular tickets are $40 and $35 for center members. The Levitt Pavilion in Arlington presents the second week of the Texas Power 2012 Fall Concert Series. Watusi will perform Sept. 6 with reggae beats and melodies. Band of Heathens will return for its second appearance Sept. 7, bringing indie rock to the stage Sept. 8 will have Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Johnny Rodriguez perform country hits, and classical pianist Danny Wright will be onstage Sept. 9. The Fort Worth Contemporary Music Fund presents the first Modern Music Festival. The festival includes collaboration from Colombian, Brazilian, American and Argentinian artists, including TCC adjunct piano teacher and artistic director for the Fort Worth Contemporary Music Fund Eduardo Rojas.
