Except for holidays, examination periods, summer, and conventions, The Collegian is published weekly on Wednesday mornings and is free to the TCC population.
Advertising Policy
The Collegian accepts legitimate advertising, reserving the right to reject or edit advertising copy that is libelous; promotes academic dishonesty; violates postal regulations or federal, state or local laws; or encourages discrimination against or exploitation of any individual or group.
Advertisements for alcoholic beverages, drugs, tobacco products, or any advertising determined to be in poor taste will not be accepted.
Position requests will be honored whenever possible, but The Collegian does not guarantee positioning.
Copy Regulations
Composition, photography and artwork produced by The Collegian becomes property of the TCC Student Publications and may not be used or reproduced withour prior written consent of the Director of Student Publications.

How to Calculate Advertising Cost
- Multiply the number of columns (maximum 6) by height (in inches). 2 x 3 ad (2 columns x 3 inches) = 6
- Multiply by the number of times the ad will run. Ad will run in 3 issues. 6 (column inches) x 3 (issues) = 18 (discount applies when this number is 50+).
- Multiply by the advertising rate. 18 x $7.90 = $142.20 (This is the total cost).

Political Advertising
All political advertising must be paid in advance and plainly identify the sponsor of the advertisement and bear the words "Paid Political Advertisement."
All political advertisers receive the same rate as other advertisers.
Commission & Payment Terms
- Advertising is on a cash-only basis until credit application has been approved. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are welcome--$15 minimum charge.
- For advertising agencies, local rates are net (non-commissionable). Advertising agency accounts outside the D/FW metroplex will be charged national rates, which are gross (commissionable) rates.
- Make all checks payable to The Collegian. A $15 service charge will be made for each returned check.
- Advertiser is responsible for full cost of space reserved if ad is cancelled after the deadline.
