Regarding: TR deaf instructors share culture (April 30).
The picture and story featured with this article are insanely misleading. One look to the picture and any reader is instantly given the impression that the deaf culture is a sad, painful experience. There is not a single person or aspect within this photo without obvious frowns or even painful expressions.
The deaf in general are happy, smiling, energetic and active. This is far too often the case when you have the hearing portraying the deaf.
