For students confused about myTCC and WebAdvisor, NE Campus’ academic support services coordinator offered some suggestions Sept. 3 during an orientation session.
Jeanette Jacobs addressed some of the common problems students have working with WebAdvisor and myTCC portals.
WebAdvisor can be complicated if students do not know what to find on it. For example, the site has information about registration, financial aid, transcripts, tuition, grades and attendance.
Students who have never taken classes that require communicating through the Internet may find the myTCC portal frustrating. Jacobs outlined some of the basics for operating the portal, such as login details, myTCC resources and other functions (Course Homepage and What’s New).
Jacobs also talked about Smart Thinking, an online 24/7 tutoring service where every TCC student gets 10 free hours. Tutors give students paper and resume critiques, but students are required to submit them 24-48 hours before due dates.
