A NE Campus student club will host its second talent show with a fall twist Oct. 24.
Presented by the Union for Cultural Diversity Club, Spooktacular will feature 25 contestants showcasing a variety of talents, said club president Macy Thurwachter.
“Anything and everything! Mostly singing performances,” said Thurwachter, commenting on what to look forward to in the show.
Last spring, the event was called TCC’s Got Talent and was not holiday-oriented.
The club decided to rename the talent show Spooktacular, giving it a Halloween spin. Both guests and participants are encouraged to wear costumes.
Since the event is a fundraiser for the Tarrant Area Food Bank, admission is free with a food donation, Thurwachter said. Donations should be nonperishable items, such as canned or dried foods.
People who arrive without a food donation must pay an entry fee: $1 for students, faculty and staff and $3 for the public.
A judge will select the top three talent contestants who will be awarded monetary prizes.
Thurwachter said the audience will receive random prizes along with a handful of raffle tickets.
Anyone can attend to watch the show, but performance slots are limited to the first 25 people who sign up. To perform at the event, participants can sign up at the student activities office (NSTU 1702A) or call 817-515-6234. The sign-up deadline is Oct. 18.
