Kenna Make Sure They See My Face (4 stars)
Kenna’s Make Sure They See My Face is a breath of fresh air to the alternative rock genre.
Kenna relies more on the quality of his lyrics and vocals than his mixing electronic beats.
The album interweaves a retro sound with the new age electronica, which is rather ear-pleasing.
“Be Still” has a ’80s ballad sound with a 21st century tweak. It is a good sampling of retro music without sounding cheesy.
“Loose Wires/Blink Radio” is entertaining until it gets to the “blink radio” part. This half of the song is only a dialogue between what sounds like Kenna in different synthesizers.
The only frustrating thing about this album is the lack of track names on the back.
Make Sure They See My Face is a great CD to listen to in the car, but good luck finding the track you want.
