Fiesta Latina will be on NW Campus tomorrow.
The fiesta will include a performance of Latin dances by the NW dance students. The demonstration will help students attending learn to dance to the music.
Lacreacia Sanders, associate professor of dance, will direct.
The festival will also include a piñata breaking.
Event sponsor is Rosa Chavez, NW communications department chair, Spanish instructor.
“ Food, dancing and music are the main elements of a traditional Latin fiesta,” she said. “We have invited Spanish-speakers in the ESOL classes and the community, in order to give our students a chance to practice Spanish and to see what a typical fiesta is like.”
The NW Spanish program offers a variety of courses, all crafted to meet the flexibility and learning needs of each student, Chavez said.
Course listings include biweekly conversation classes, traditional elementary and intermediate Spanish and a new hybrid (combination of oral and online) courses.
Students also benefit from a free full-time Spanish tutor.
Fiesta Latina will be 7:30 p.m.–9 p.m. in WFAB 1105. It is open to all TCC students, faculty or staff.
