Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz will discuss his experiences as a writer in the NE Campus annual Living Literature presentation March 25-26.
The English department and student activities sponsor the event, which has been a mainstay on NE for more than 20 years.
Cruz, a Cuban-American playwright, won the Pulitzer in 2003.
In addition to reading from and discussing his prize-winning play Anna in the Tropics, Cruz will talk about his composition process and his experiences in getting his work published and produced.
“The intent of Living Literature is to give our students the opportunity to interact with professional writers of stature, so as to enrich students’ study of literature,” said Eric Devlin, English professor and department chair.
Students will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
“This is a chance for aspiring writers to have access to a role model who can share valuable experience,” Devlin said.
Cruz will speak 7 p.m. March 25 and 9:30 a.m. March 26 in the NSTU Center Corner.
