A game show similar to The Price is Right will head to SE Campus 11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 22 in the North Ballroom as a way to celebrate Earth Day and this year’s campus theme of saving the environment.
Sponsored by student activities and career services, Intensity, a full audience participation trivia-based game, hopes to have a celebratory atmosphere as it informs students about the environment, said SE student activities director Doug Peak.
“Environmentally friendly questions will be plugged into where it becomes a learning event as well,” Peak said. “So as the students answer these, both they and the audience will be learning together. I’m excited to see how it operates.”
Two large screens and game booths will be stationed in the room, along with a disk jockey to play music between trivia questions. Audience members can become game show contestants who will answer questions and possibly win prizes. The largest reward is a $200 cash prize.
“It’s a fun event, and also it has some reward but not so much that it’s the main focus,” he said.
During the show, people can purchase recyclable school supplies from the college bookstore booth as well as buy packaged plant seeds.
Contestants just need to show up to the event. Admission is free, and the show is open to the public.
