In the morning hours of April 1, the NE Campus Fine Arts Building fell victim to thievery.
Among the missing items are money, a wallet and some art.
Two pieces of art were taken off the walls, and both were student works, said Martha Gordon, the art department chair.
“As far as I know, they were both colored pieces that were stolen directly from the wall of the main hallway,” she said.
The crime is still under investigation, so sources would not disclose much information, especially regarding the amount of missing money.
Sgt. Tony Woolum of the TCC Police Department believes this crime is related to another burglary that occurred on campus over spring break.
Cpl. Chanissa Dietrich of the TCC Police Department said the spring break robbery also occurred in the Fine Arts Building. The criminals were not authorized to be in the building, stole personal property and vandalized the building by tearing down art and defacing furniture.
“The subjects have been identified and all the stolen property returned,” she said.
Woolum said the current case is being handled.
“We should have this case closed soon,” Woolum said. “We will be able to give out more information once the investigation is closed.”
