South dance students will perform in the Emerge showcase as part of their final projects Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 in the Carillon Theater at the Joe B. Rushing Performing Arts Center.
“This event serves as an opportunity to showcase the Continuum Dance Company and the students participating in dance courses this semester,” South dance program director Kiera Amison said.
The concert will feature this semester’s dance students, TCC’s Continuum Dance Company and special guests from the Big Rig Dance Collective.
Although this year’s concert doesn’t have a specific theme, the dance company hopes that the concert’s variety of dance styles will give the audience a diverse and eclectic program, Amison said.
Dance students have been practicing three hours a week in and out of class to rehearse and perfect the movements.
Concerts are open to those who know nothing about dance as well as those who have a great deal of knowledge about the art form. Amison said anyone interested in learning more about dance should attend and support their fellow students.
Show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is free for TCC students, faculty and staff with ID
and is $5 for general admission.
