TCC fitness centers are free to all students.
Students can use the gyms on all five campuses with a student ID to check in.
NW’s fitness center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed Sundays. Basketball and volleyball courts, fitness trails with exercise stations and a pool are available. “Our gym is open to any current student, faculty or staff member,” NW kinesiology learning lab manager Sarah Matlock said. “We also have a Rec Pass for community members that costs $65 per semester. With that pass, they have access to any TCC fitness facilities.”
SE’s center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and closed on weekends.
“The schedule includes open times for the weight room, cardiovascular exercise room, gymnasium and swimming pool,” SE kinesiology instructor Shahzad Nazir said. “The facilities are open to all current faculty, staff and students.”
NE’s center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sundays. It offers four weight rooms, four racquetball courts, a swimming pool, pingpong tables, four pickleball courts and more.
“All of our credit fitness classes have non-credit seats available, which is perfect if a friend or family member wants to be in a class with you but they aren’t degree or certificate seeking students at TCC,” NE kinesiology instructor Kevin Harper said.
South’s center is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and closed weekends. It has three weight rooms, a cardio room, a stretch and resistance room, three racquetball courts and other amenities available.
“We also have a paid swim club. It’s called Fight Swim Club,” South kinesiology administrative assistant said. “They teach the youth and use the pool after 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.”
More information about services offered and who can use the fitness centers are located at the kinesiology departments on each campus or on TCC’s website.
