NE faculty will perform vocal and instrumental works that span monumental eras on April 9.
NE music instructor Karen Parsons said Music Through the Centuries is designed to be a one-stop concert where Music Appreciation students can enjoy the music they have learned this semester.
“By the close of the semester, many students will say this concert is/was the highlight of their semester,” she said. “They often state that it is very enlightening to hear music as it progresses through the centuries, and they also state they can see themselves in the concert halls in the future. This is what we want.”
Parsons said the concert also has the ability to open up listeners to classic, beautiful sounds that may be new to them.
“We hope once they have heard this music, they will have a wider music interest in many music styles,” she said. “We expect to fill every seat.”
Music Through the Centuries is 7:30-9:15 p.m. in Center Corner (NSTU 1615) and is open to the public. For more information, contact Parsons at 817-515-6567 or karen.parsons@tccd.edu.
