Image realization focus of seminar on SE Campus

Self Image: The Fantasy and The Reality, a SE Campus seminar, will focus on body image.

Students who think they are too fat, too skinny, too big or too small, who think they need to work out more, or are convinced of what they should look like because the media has told them can find some assistance.

The seminar is 11:45 a.m.–12:40 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, in the North Ballroom. Jason Wooten, assistant professor of physical education, will help students realize they should accept their bodies for how they are.

According to Joyce Fisher, SE counselor, this seminar will focus on helping students change their views on what a “perfect-shaped” body should be.

Seminar participants will learn how to change their body dissatisfaction, disordered eating, food preoccupation or exercise obsession to body acceptance, Fisher said.
