WINR to examine goals

As a part of its 19th anniversary meeting, Women In New Roles Network will present Inner Goals, Passions and Purpose Saturday, Feb. 9.

Jan Stumbo, director of the Soul Art Project and former WINR student, will speak about the importance of goals and achieving those goals through passion and purpose. Stumbo’s presentation will allow the audience to “reflect and look back on all the baby steps and how far you have come because of passion and purpose,” she said.

A former SE student, self-taught artist and founder of the Soul Art Project, Stumbo hopes to send art supplies to 100 sheltering agencies through the drive she currently sponsors.

Stumbo continues to work at shelters and teaches impromptu art and creative writing classes to get the children started.

“It takes time, little baby steps,” she said. “But that’s my mission.”

Victoria Rutherford, former SE WINR student, will close the meeting with a performance of her original song “You Can Fly.”

The meeting will be 12:15-2 p.m. in Billy Miner’s Group Room, 150 W. 3rd St. in Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth.

The presentation is free. The only cost is lunch.

Organizers request participants to arrive on time to place food orders.
